Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic returns to Flagler Beach Oct. 23-25

The Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic returns to Flagler Beach Oct. 23–25, bringing three days of competition, a memorial paddle-out and fundraising for local students and surfers.The 24th annual event will take place just south of the Flagler Beach Pier, with 19 divisions for surfers of all ages and skill levels, according to organizers.The contest began in 1999 in memory of local surfer Tommy Tant, who died unexpectedly the previous year at age 24.Surfing supports scholarshipsOrganizers said the event has raised more than $200,000 for the community over the years.
