Could Trader Joe’s be coming to East Colonial Drive?An application filed with the City of Orlando permit office points to the likelihood.The application lists a project called “Trader Joe’s” for 3001 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando. The application includes the following description:“Interior tenant fit out of an existing building into a Trader Joe’s store work includes, but is not limited to new partitions, fixtures millwork, flooring, ceiling, light fixtures, and mechanical, plumbing and electrical work.”A pre-screen review was completed on Sept. 29. Several project reviews are due by Nov. 3. The application has an expiration date of April 6, 2027.The address, 3001 E. Colonial Dr., points to an empty storefront in Colonial Marketplace shopping plaza, which is at the corner of Colonial and Maquire Boulevard, next to Orlando Fashion Square mall.
