Man arrested for DUI manslaughter in fatal Ocala traffic accident — Altamonte Springs Community news

A 33-year-old man was arrested Oct. 30 and charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter in connection with a fatal September crash in Ocala. The Ocala Police Department arrested Joel Gonzalo Zelaya following an investigation into the Sept. 29 collision at the intersection of SE Maricamp Road and SE 36th Avenue, which claimed the lives of De Lawn Marshall Duncan and Eric Maurice McGill.Investigators determined that Zelaya’s blood alcohol concentration exceeded Florida’s legal limit at the time of the crash. The Ocala Police Department concluded its investigation into the incident prior to placing Zelaya under arrest.Following his arrest, Zelaya was transported to the Marion County Jail. He is currently being held at the facility without bond.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps. And click here to stream Channel 9 Eyewitness News live.
