Armed sex attack leaves Orlando man behind bars, police say

An Orlando man was arrested on Tuesday after a sexual battery was reported in the area, according to the police department.In a release, police said they received a call about the attack around 5:40 a.m. in the 600 block of West Amelia Street.Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, who reported being assaulted, police added.Per investigators, the suspect — identified as Gervin Jawaski Lewis, 46 — approached the victim, threatened her with a weapon and assaulted her.“Following the attack, the suspect fled the area,” the release reads. “Detectives were able to quickly identify a vehicle associated with (the) crime, and Lewis was located and detained a short time later.”Lewis was taken into custody and now faces charges of:Armed sexual batteryArmed robberyFalse imprisonmentVehicle burglaryHindering 911 communications[RELATED: Watch Lewis’ arrest below]Furthermore, police said they discovered that Lewis had an outstanding warrant in another county, too.Jail records show he faces charg
