19-year-old arrested in Melbourne hit-and-run that killed teen on scooter

A 19-year-old man from Melbourne was arrested Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a teen earlier this year. On June 21, FHP says Aidan Perry veered onto the right shoulder on Viera Boulevard striking 15-year-old Isaiah Irizarry, who was riding an electric scooter in the same direction. After hitting the teen, troopers say Perry fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died.At the original scene, investigators said they found a passenger-side mirror, which was identified as belonging to a black 2009-2010 Hyundai Genesis. A search led troopers to a vehicle approximately 1.5 miles south of the crash scene with damage consistent with the collision.Perry was booked into the Brevard County Jail for leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
